Grace English Class
Grace English Class is located in Salabalat, Battambang Province, Cambodia. It was started in 2008 by Yachiyo Akari as a school ministry.
Yachiyo's heart was so touched by God that He gave her a vision to bring hope in Christ to the children in poor villages. It is her desire that they would know God's love for them and to equip them for their future through teaching English and the Bible.
Grace English Class utilizes classrooms at a primary school located in Salabalat. It has been amazing to see the enrollment of students rise to 230 students attending each day.
Our current students now come from 12 various schools (primary schools, Jr. high schools, high schools and colleges). There are a total of 12 classes operating five days a week: 7 classes at 5 pm, and 5 classes at 6 pm. Students are eager to come and learn everyday.
Over the last ten years Grace English Classes has reached around 3,000 students. God has touched them through the English classes, and led them to a life with Him. Hundreds have been baptized.
Yachiyo, pictured on the right, has been blessed with a wonderful teaching staff.
Including herself, there are nine teachers who faithfully teach the precious children.
They are an incredible team with so much to offer the children.
Grace English Class has been a blessing to the Salabalat School. Yachiyo has done many projects for the poor school to be able to operate safely. She has installed a fence, proper lighting, repaired buildings that were ready to fall down.
She engages the children in cleaning up the school. It teaches them servant hood.
